Hi All,

I have a question about changing the coordinate system in AutoCad. I am using AutoCad 2010.

What I want to do, is to have the world coordinate system and also have a custom coordinate system. I don't want the custom coordinate system to be referenced to the world coordinate system. For instance, the world coordinate is at (0.0, 0.0) and I want to place the new custom coordinate at (5.0, 5.0) (in respect to the world coordinate system), but have it say the custom coordinate at (100.0, 113.0).

What this is for, is for a map. I want the map to be referenced to the world coordinate for importing new information. But I also want to switch to the custom coordinate system in order to find the Lat and Long of specific points.

I hope this makes sense.

Does anyone know how to do this or know if it even possible in the normal AutoCad?

Your request is confusing, but I would think creating an XRef would be the easiest thing to do.

Look up the help re UCS pretty sure one option is to redefine the origin point to other co-ordinates make sure you save the new UCS so you can switch beteen world and your ucs

UCS OR 5000,5000 etc
