gargoyle27 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 the guy i replaced at my job had all the idws for a machine under a single file and named it ambiguously, so it took me a little while to find them (was very frustrating for a while) is there a way i could separate them into single files? Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I'm not sure if you can do this in Inventor (I will watch this thread with interest) but you can do it in Autocad - But I have no idea whether the links betwhen views will still work. If your collegue has not linked views betwhen sheets then it might be worth a try. Save a copy as DWG, for each layout Open in Autocad Delete the layouts you don't need OPen the DWG in Inventor and see if it still works! Quote
JD Mather Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I think you can copy and paste sheets from one file to another - but I don't have time to test right now. Quote
DVDM Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Yes, you can copy/paste sheets including everything that's on there. Alternatively, you could save copy as (idw), then delete all the other sheets you don't want. Repeat x times for every sheet you want in a separate file. Similar to what Pablo says, except there is no need to go to Acad for this. Quote
