Hello!!

I'm new here, and I'm hoping I can get some help...

I have a problem with Autocad 2010...

This is the problem:

When I try to make a polyline, if OSNAP is turned off, everything breaks and twitches and it's impossible to do anything. Same thing happends when I try to move or rotate objects...

Since I work with large situations, working with OSNAP ON is very difficult because there are thousands of intersections and connections that OSNAP catches on...

Some advice? What to do?

What do you mean "everything breaks and twitches"?

Posted

It looks like refresh is very bad, 2FPS...

When I move crosshair it moves in jumps, you can't move it ontinuosly...

Like it's moving on some invisible irregular grid...

It looks like when you are playing a video game on too high settings, moves are'nt continuous, you can't point crosshair precisely into a single point...

When I turn OSNAP ON, everything is OK...

I don't know if I have managed to explain the problem?

Could it be that you have SNAP enabled? It is the F9 key.

Posted

No, SNAP is off all the time, you can't use snap when working with situations...

When did the problem first occur?

Do you have any problems with mouse functionality in other programs?

Posted

It started when we switched to Autocad 2010, I did'nt have this problem with 2008.

Mouse works fine in other programs...

Is the problem confined to just one particular drawing or does it occur in any drawing you are working on?

Posted

Not in every drawing, only in situations...

When I'm working with fiber optic cable schemes everything is OK...

Posted

What's so unusual above these fiber optic cable drawings? How are they constructed?

Posted

There's nothing unusual with FO cable schemes, everything works OK with schemes, situations are a bit tricky...

There is a lot of lines, intersections, midpoint, endpoints and so on...

That's why I'm surprised that the problem appears when OSNAP is OFF, not ON...

This is printscreen of drawing that I'm currently working on:

I have absolutely no idea what you mean by the word "situations".

What software are you using?

You can see on the picture what I mean by "situations".

These drawings are bases on wich we draw route of FO cable along highways...

I'm using autocad 2010

Unfortunately I cannot see the image you posted for some strange reason. Sorry.

I cannot think of a reason why your mouse behaves so erratically in these types of drawings and not in others. Are you using any custom Lisp routines?

Posted

Lisp is a programming language. AutoCAD uses a variation called AutoLisp. Users can create their own custom lisp routines to handle mundane or repetitive tasks.

I thought that perhaps you were using a custom lisp routine that might be toggling your Osnaps on/off and enabling "apparent intersections" as one of the settings.
