I am using ACAD2006. some of the computers keep losing the support file search paths. They are reset back to the default paths. This happens as much as every other day, but only on some computers. What could be causing this?????

Are the paths leading to files on a network drive?
I wonder if they are losing the network? Not that I know alot about networks, but I don't think that would put the defaults back

I am having the same problem as christ0j where some computer are losing the support file search and everything resets back to the default. We are pathing to a network. This is driving me crazy, is there anyone out there that can help?

This happens to some of our CAD monkeys here. Near as I can figure it's related to how people log on to the server. My machine logs right in with no need to input the passwords, others ahve to for various reason: wireless connection, etc. Everything goes all higgledy piggildy if the try to open AutoCAD prior to logging on to the server.

Here everyone shuts down at night then we all login in the morning with the same password, but 1 machine is loosing network file support search paths when its loged on and we cant figure out why.

You are not alone. The AutoDesk Discussion Groups have been queried about this strange behavior.

AutoCAD 2006

Search criteria: "search path". Results: 91

Click on the 8th query down from the top titled, "Loosing network support file search paths".

When opened you'll notice there were 11 replies.

Page down to the next to last reply by Kiwi Russ. He states, "...not an AutoDesk fix but..." Kiwi offers a LISP routine that may temporarily fix your problem. The file is provided as an attachment named: LoginProfile.lsp.

For the small amount of time it will take I suggest you read all the posts under this particular query. They may provide further insight.

I do not know if AutoDesk has fully acknowledged the extent of the problem at this time.
