Truncated elevations

I'm trying to create an elevation of an object in paperspace view without including all the other objects behind it. Please could anyone remind me what the command and/or procedure is for doing this ?

 

Autocad 2007

Use SOLPROF command and select only desired solid(s).

Interesting, I just tried that.. but the 3D objects I selected were rejected as not being solids "No solids selected". Any other ideas please ?

Can you isolate objects by freezing layers in the viewport you're working in?

 

This isn't a 3D drawing is it?

Thanks for the input guys. It was clipping planes I was trying to remember. Actually I have a lisp routine on my add-on software that uses DVIEW to create just what I need.

I just love these user solved problems. LOL

Rest assured, I felt a real idiot asking the question in the first place. I just knew the answer was somewhere hereabouts. I even checked the faq's too.
