xxkyo Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I'm engraving an objects with extruded leathers whith moving and rotating objects separately in an arc line, but I have realized that with lots of work I still get trashy results. So I wonder, is there a way to line selected object in an arc line? I'm using AutoCAD 2006 (yeah.. I know it's old, but I don't have a choice) Quote
ScribbleJ Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Are you familiar with the array command? Type in ARRAY at the command line and then select polar array. If I understand your question I think this might be what your looking for. Quote
RobDraw Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 "DIVIDE" using the block option might give you what you are looking for. Quote
xxkyo Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 I don't really understand how to use block option, but command was useful. Thank you =) Quote
ReMark Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 The "block" option allows the user to insert a block into the line and have it spaced per the user's input. Measure is another command, similar to Divide, that also allows for the "block" option as well. Quote
RobDraw Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 First prepare a block of what you want to align with the arc. Start the "DIVIDE" command. Watch your command line. When asked "Enter the number of segments or [block]:" enter "B" for Block. Enter the name of the block. Enter "Y" to align with object. Then add one to the number of segments to get the number of blocks that you want on that arc. Here's a sample: Command: divide Select object to divide: Enter the number of segments or [block]: b Enter name of block to insert: vz-logo Align block with object? [Yes/No] : Enter the number of segments: 4 This will give you 3 entries of your block "vz-logo" along the arc that you choose. Quote
