I would like to print a drawing with both a color 2d graphic view of the model and acad text, details, etc. on the same page at the same time. What are the steps and settings?

Well you can export a 2D colored elevation in a jpeg and then insert that into Acad and scale it to match your CAD elevation (it will not be exact but it can be damn close ;) ). Like this...

I needed to line-up some of the text and such but you get the idea.

That one is Archstyle. Not sure where to get it as it was on my work machine but here is a free one that is very similar.
