matatmicad Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Need a hand solving this more then likely easy fix issue. What command/toggle/selection makes it so you can select out of view objects in a zoomed in selection box? Eg: Click one point of your drawing, then finer select your 2nd point by zooming in and having the first point out of your current viewing window? currently we're only able to select what is with in that view and everything else that selection box covered is no longer included in the selection!! Currently working full autocad on 2006 at a contract work place and 2011 at my own workplace and get the same issue on both releases. Mucho appreciated with an answer!!! Quote
rkent Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 AutoCAD simply works that way. I loaded 2002 last year and it did the same thing. You will have to use other methods to pick your second point without zooming in or panning. I draw a large circle with the center point where I need the second pick point, then use cen osnap. It doesn't come up all that often. Quote
einstainas Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 yeah. I have the same problem ant cant find solution:( Quote

Dana W Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 pickadd = 1 Then you can select, zoom, select, pan, zoom, select, select, zoom, select, pan, select, all over the place. The other option is to hold down the shift key to add selections. Quote
rkent Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 You are not understanding the problem. Start a move command, pick a point to start a selection window, now pan over so some of the items that would be in the selection window are no longer shown on screen, pick the other corner. Notice that anything panned off screen is not in the selection set. Quote
matatmicad Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 its as rkent says, pickadd variation doesnt effect the window/zoom selection, only pre-selected. Quote
rvpas Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Unfortunately, autocad works like that. When you have to select out of view, create several selection box and pan between then. In this way autocad keep objects And I use some shortcuts during the selection. see list below w - Window c - Crossing f - Fence wp -WPolygon cp - CPolygon p - Previous l - Last Bye pascal Quote
