copy and paste problem

Recommended Posts

copy and paste does not work at all wether in the same dwg or from a dwg to another; besides, Wblock runs well without problems or error msgs, but does not save anything at all. This just happened few days ago while Autocad commands did what they should. I can not find any explanation or a solutions to this problem, even installing Autocad again from scratch.

Thanks to any idea or suggestion.

Is the problem with just one drawing?

What operating system are you using, and is there a virus scanner/malware protection program that might be blocking the program from.

It worked for awhile and then stopped working. When you reinstalled it, the problem didn't reset itself. Which suggests it's either happening just in that file, or there's something outside AutoCAD that's interacting with it.

Could there be a permissions problem here where Autocad isn't permitted to write to the folder that you're trying to Wblock to, and/or the operating system/ malware detection program requires you to click a permission screen to allow AutoCAD to access stuff?

I suspect that you have got a drawing that has been created in r2007, and has got the dreaded copy/paste bug.

You say that wblock runs, but if it does not save anything , then it is not working

My OS is xp sp3, and it is office pc, therefore protected by anti-all, and there are not problems of permission or any other kind. Yes, the file was created by a different -successive- release of Autocad, but I could open it using Dwggateway, a program downloaded from the net, which I have used for a long time without problems. The problem is the same with any other dwg file even created by me with the same release: 2002, before and after reinstallation of Autocad. I have been using Autocad since 1980, and am a lisp programmer. This is the first time I face difficulty with Autocad!

Thank for help.

And all service packs are loaded right?

Maybe it's time to completely wipe the system and start from scratch or download and install a 30-day trial version of 2010 and test the drawings against it.

I'd be willing to take a look at one of your drawings to see if it is a problem with the file itself. Unless of course you have already tried this on another system.

As said in some of the 'similar threads' try using DwgTrueview to 'convert in place' the drawing to the same format that it is already saved in; this often cures the problem.
