alright then as no one is going to answer my plot styles question what about this... is there a way of grouping objects together temporarily without turning them into a block?

Sure, it is called Group. Type GROUP in the command line and follow the on screen instructions/dialog boxes. You give it a name and then select items. You can later add or remove items or explode the group. Good luck.

just a tip, if youuse group for a selection of blocks, and you then explode the group, you will also explode the blocks in that group.

simply type in the command line group>select the group name, then select remove. this will avoid exploding the blocks.

Goodluck

while i think of it, using groups is great when you model in 3d and want to "flatten" to 2d using soldraw & solview. group alows you control of many 3d items like bmake or wblock does, but does not interfere when using solview.

i have a number of objects, all on different layers (with different colors). i want to group them all under one layer and one color (i dont mind discarding the original individual layers). how do i do this?

i tried the group command, but i dont see it appear in the layers list box. (and all the original layers are still there).

1st create the new layer (if you do not have this layer yet) and give it the color you want. Select all of the items to change. When you drag a window or crossing over them (do not have a command envoked) thier grips will appear. Then simply select the layer you want them to be on from the layer drop-down list and then either the color or color by-layer. No need to make a group for this need. Good luck.
