I'm having a bit different problem with rectangular (and polar) pattern.
When I use the pattern command in sketch mode, I sometimes get open loops although they should be closed (the problem isn't about dimensioning).
Also, when using Trim on something (numerously) patterned, the Constraints start to misbehave.
Sketch Doctor or Auto-dimension don't really help in these cases.

i havent had that happen to me yet.
but anyways, are you sure the lines are missing? or maybe your video card is not displaying them?
are you using an autodesk recommended video card?
also, have you installed the service pack(s)?

Thats right , Inventor will throw up lots of strange problems if the video card is not right. from missing lines to strange colours while orbiting to name a few.

No, it's not the video card that's giving me a hard time. When I have created a pattern in sketch, returned to 3D and I'm trying to extrude or revolve, Inventor tells me that I have open loops.
I heard or read somewhere, that the patterns (and fillets etc) work better when created in 3D mode. So I think the problems occur because of the way I work. I should create a simple sketch, extrude it and then draw a part that I want to be patterned and then extrude it and use pattern in 3D.
Thanks for your help, and I hope this helps others with similar problems.

Ok I get ya now,
Its was hard to pass a comment on this matter as i dont know what level at Inventor your at.
Can I Also add (for those that dont know) in Inventor you have to learn how to sketch in Inventor.
Sketching in Inventor is nothing like Autocad, its new from the ground up.

Think about 'projecting the geometry' and using 'work points and planes' instead.

Thanks Mr T and Deelay,
I've been working a lot more with AutoCAD lately, so maybe it will take a while to get familiar with Inventor again.
It's not difficult, it's just different.
