BWW Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I frequently generate DXF files for a local cabinet supply company that runs a CNC router. Their software excels at generating rectangular cabinet parts but anything with curves gives them fits. Drawing the shapes is simple enough, but the router, in some instances, prefers the shape defined as a polyline, and it really prefers for the stop and start points to not be the exact same point. Ideally I'd start at a point mid line ... any line ... and finish at a point on the same line but beyond the initial point. It's a router thing I guess. When trying to retrace the shape in question ... an arched wainscot panel ... I've had no troubles until I need to add an arc that, in order to follow the shape, needs to be generated in a clockwise direction. Arcs seem to only want to generate in a counter clockwise direction. Is there any way to change the direction that the arcs are generated in? ACAD 2004. I can create the shape in polyline form using PEDIT, but I doubt that will satisfy the router in terms of overlapping start-stop points. Any and all help is appreciated. Quote
mitchellrodhous Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 hm, I am not sure wich CNC programm/machine you're working with, normally you can change you direction of operation by you cnc parameters, not in your cad drawing. In cad drawing you only set an contour for your cnc tools. SX and DX will let you choose side of a line, but as I told before, I do not know wich machine you are working... Quote
