Hi,

I have some 2D designs that have various connecting line segments which eventually closes off to form a polynomial. I was wondering if there was a way to make all these line segments into a single polynomial instead of having multiple connecting line segments.

Also, is there a way to check if all these connecting line segments are indeed closed? Sometimes I have to zoom very far in into an intersect to check if the lines are connecting.

Thank you.

Separate lines and polylines can be connected to form a single entity via the JOIN option of the PEDIT command.

A Fuzz Factor with a low value should help with closing any inadvertent gaps.

thank you!! That helped greatly. Could you explain what exactly is the fudge factor? I cant seem to find where that number is. Do I select the polynomials/objects i want and then execute a command to display that number?

You need to select the multiple option in Pedit to set a fuzz factor. It's explained fairly well in Help.

Let's try to use the correct AutoCAD terminology OK? It's polylines not polynomials.

Polynomial

"A polynomial is an expression of finite length constructed from variables (also known as indeterminates) and constants, using only the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative, whole-number exponents."

A polyline is a line with special properties. It is not a mathematical expression.
