Component Manager AutoCAD Architecture 2010

If memory serves me, in ACAD 2007 I could insert a component from the detail component manager and have the option of a section or an elevation. I cannot find the elevation option. I can insert a section of a bar joist but not an elevation. Am I missing it somewhere?

When you start the tool, have your properties palette open, the option will be in there before you insert the component.

Have a bar joist inserted from the component manager as an elevation. Maybe you can answer another item. In DeskTop 2004 I could double click on a block and the block would open to edit. Is a componet a block? If so, when I double click on it, it opens the Edit Block Definition window and not the block. Why?

That is the default action by ACA, you can change that within the CUI file.
