busseynova
Can anyone shed any light on what's going on with my models here, specifically the desk tops. In the render and shaded view there appears to be trangles in the corner of each top that are reflecting differently to the rest, these shouldn't be like this. It's most noticable on the back 3 desks on the render. Wierdly the wireframe model looks fine - the surface appears to be one flat piece. Very confusing. The model was created in AutoCAD Architecture 2009 and imported into 3DS 2009.
Cad64
I think you just need to remove any smoothing groups that are applied to the tables. Switch to "Element" selection mode and select a table top. Now go to the "Polygon Smoothing Groups" section and click "Clear All". Do this for all the table tops. If that doesn't work, post the file here.
busseynova
Cool, I'll give that a go tomorrow and report back. Thanks!
busseynova
I think it worked! I struggled for a bit until I applied the 'edit poly' modifier to get that element selection and the Poly Smoothing Groups. Thanks a lot, this is slow progress but I think I'm getting there.
