Sadly, AutoCAD is not the kind of application you can just pick up and start using. I susspect that if your question were answered, you would have to ask another directly.

Can I suggest that you look through the tutorials at CADTutor.net (http://www.cadtutor.net) to familiarize yourself with the basics. You might then stand a reasonable chance of completing your project on time ;)

No, follow the AutoCAD 2000i tutorials - you will hardly notice any differences.

The lowerleft corner in coordinates, for instance 0,0. Than the upper right corner in coordinates, for instance 5,4...

Well, if they are both closed polylines (and if you used the rectangle command, they will be) you can use the region command, turn them into regions and then use Union command to join them.

You could also explode the items and trim the intersecting lines and them Polyline Edit them to join them back but the Region Union seemed faster.
Good Luck.

Nice tutorial F7 but dont you think it would be easier on all of us if mibberz just sent you his project brief and you could complete it for him. That way he wouldn't even need to learn how to use AutoCAD at all ;D

mibberz - like I said already in this thread. You're just going to have to sit down and do some good old fashioned learning. If you had followed the tutorials I pointed you in the direction of, all the above answers and all the others you still have would be answered.

Thanks. Yeah...can I send some drawings somebodys way to get drawn? I have to redraw a site plan from a print and I really don't want too. Haha!

I agree - it is a technical program and it requires time and effort. I myself have been using it since 1989. I still learn new things almost everyday.

Now, now guys - cool it!

This is a beginner's forum don't forget. However, mibberz might do well to do at least a little background before posting.

Being a teacher of 12-18 yr olds starting with a basic knowledge of maths, eg struggling with Radius and Diameter concepts ! I appreciate the original posters position.

But hit F1 and go through the online tutorials and/or load up the 'Learning Assistance' CD U got with AutoCAD, it's very good, and easy to follow.

Good Luck
