vertical horizons
When you open an .IDW, the layout always opens in a size "C" border. I know that, once the layout opens, you can change the border size. But, is there any way to change the setting so that it opens in another size? For example, every time I open a new .IDW, I would prefer for it to open as a size "A" drawing instead. Also, just like you can go to Tools > Application Options > General > User Name, and specify what name you want shown every time in an .IDW border, is it possible to specify the name of your company, so that every time you open an .IDW, that name appears in the border, so that you do not have to type it every time? jdits7
Open up your standard template file that you use, there you can change the border size, and anything that you want in the border to come in as default through the iProperties. MarkFlayler
Ken, once you get your IDW or DWG file setup the way you want go the Application Menu in the upper left and do a Save As Template. This will save it to you template directory and you can just start from that one each time. If you want some more information, I am actually working on an Autodesk University Class for this for the convention in December. Hit me up with a PM and I'll let you proof it. JD Mather
... do a Save As Template. Mark, was this in 2009? I don't remember seeing it before 2011. You could always save back the the Templates folder, but I don't remember a direct menu link before 2011.
MarkFlayler
Oops that's my bad, I didn't see the Inventor 2009 listed in his profile. You can just save it to the template directly designated by your project file.
