gargoyle27
i have a set of pins that had a cross hole through them, when i go to add a chamfer on both ends of the hole they end up different, the chamfer is set to .125" for both, but it comes out with a different result, how do i make it make them the same? here is one of the pins 2.5 inch pin.zip
gargoyle27
oops, that one didn't have the chamfers here it is again 2.5 inch pin.zip
JD Mather
This has been a known problem for years. I tried deleting in 2011 and it reproduced. I will try recreating the part from scratch in 2011 (I thought this one had been fixed for 2011). Incidently, even if it worked - chamfer would not give you the same geometry as a standard revolving cutting tool - the result would be more similar to a hand deburring operation. I would use Revolve rather than Chamfer.
gargoyle27
yeah true, i think i will use revolve instead, thought there was something wrong with my computer or the way i used chamfer or something

I'll have to give it a try in SolidWorks and Pro/E and see what happens. Also, instead of Revolve you can also put in countersink angle using Hole feature rather than extruding a circle and then revolve.
