CAnnondale
Hi Guys, I would like to know on how to get the bending moment of these part. Is there a feature in AI 2010 Suite that can give me the answer.
Steve_wright
Well bare with me i am learnning myself.... i would probably tackle this by making an arc then putting the features in then converting it to sheetmetal then unfolding it ... it would then bend and then flatten. i dunno if this would work i am not that experienced ,,,,, but i do know you can make an extruded arc with an offset of 1mm and then convert it to sheetmetal set the defaults to the thickness of the arc then it will flatten I hope this is of help but i am almost sure you will probably need to use the sheetmetal . rdharvey
or just use the stress analysis environment>?
Hopinc
Hi Willie, Yes, it's certainly possible to do what you want using the Inventor Stress Analysis facilities. Unfortunately, I am no expert in this field and cannot really offer you sound advice. Stress Analysis is a specialist field and Autodesk does offer training for Inventor users. I think it is a two day course here in the U.K. I have attached an image of my attempt at carrying out a modal analysis of a small sheet of 1.5mm thick x 300mm long mild steel (as a cantilever) with 10N force on the end. I have only a passing aquaintance with stess analysis, but I do intend doing the training course when funds permit. Sorry I can't be more helpful in this instance. Good luck, Dave

Hopinc
Yes, that's what I was wondering? Attached is an almost identical simulation created within 2010. As far as I know not much, if anything, has changed as far as stress analysis goes between versions 2010 and 2011. Regards, Dave
