Hatch un-associating itself

Using AutoCAD 20006, I'm making poly line outlines of walls with hatch inside them and copy them around the drawing and stretch them to the right length. I never had any problems until today I opened the drawing and all the hatches aren't associated anymore.

I've recreated hatch boundaries only to have them lose the association to the hatch pattern. A simple change seems to be costing hours instead of minutes, anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
