Linkan Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Hello Sorry for the uninformative title but this problem is quite hard to explain. It seems I've made a big mess. I was playing around trying to learn how to rotate the viewport view. Managed to do that, but then when i closed the drawing (and autoCAD) and opened another drawing i could't do anything. doubleclicking on lines, objects etc. didn't work, Delete button don't work. and im unable to change layer whitout doing it in Properties. Also, when i have several objects in different layers marked the scrole in the layers toolbar tell me all objects is in the same layer. Need help. Quote
ReMark Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I find it difficult to believe that just playing around to learn how to rotate a viewport caused that many problems. What else were you playing with prior to quitting the drawing and shutting AutoCAD down? Quote
nestly Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Sounds like PICKFIRST is disabled to me, except like ReMark said, that's not really related to views/viewports. Options > Selection > Noun/Verb selection, or PICKFIRST = 1 from the command line. Quote
Linkan Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Hi, yeah i know it seems wierd that it would change when trying to rotade a viewport. But the thing is i havent done anything else. That's why im more confused than usual. All i did was MVSETUP and align/rotate. and then all went bad. even all my preselected toolbars dissapered. The PICKFIRST=1 worked fine. All is back to normal Thanks for the help. But im still wondering how it happened. Have been using AutoCAD for ten years and never stumbeled on to this before... Quote
ReMark Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Had you been using any custom lisp routines during your editing session? Some poorly written routines reset certain settings and neglect to return them to their original values upon terminating. Glad to hear nestly's advice was spot on and for the time being your problem has been solved. Thank you for updating us. Quote
Amalgama Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Thank you! You helped me too. Had a strange problem with some buttons and commands that didn't work, had to work through properties. Now everything back to normal. Thanks. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Ahhh the mysterious world of AutoCad. Now you see it; now you don't. Now you can select it; now you can't. Now you can see it but can't even select it or purge it. Strange things happen in AutoCad from time to time. I have resolved to live with it and move on with a work around if I can't find a solution.
