Hi all,

I am a fan of auto cad - since the first time I saw it. Wit a very little kowledge of the software, I started making 3d models. It was torturous making 3d objects with the rotate grid thing, I had not known the use of extrude, rev surface, rev commands then. Now that I know them I am faced wit 3 problems

1) I dont know how to draw springs.
2) I dont have any ideas where I can lay my hands on drawings of parts and assemblies (with the dimensions) that I can use to practice my skills in Auto CAD for making 3D models.
3) And I have learn that AUto Cad is not very flexible in drawing 3D unsymmetrical models, should i learn PRO E?( purely in view of CAD and not CAM)

I am using Auto CAD 2004

8) As for Q1..You would need a lisp routine for this, you can get it from this forum ... here is the link for it.. Get Your HELIX HERE (http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74&highlight=helix)

Q2.. Someone may have an idea were to get some of these...sorry I can help with this one.

Q3..It depends on extent of the 3D modelling you require, but moving to something like PRO E or Mechincal Desktop/Inventor may be a better option.

Autocad is good for making diagrams that don't resolve the sight lines thru the gunsite from the seat and over the cowling...is it supposed to fly in a nose down angle of attack when flying straight?
