It depends on how the block's colours are defined. They can be hard coded by item into the block in which case you have to redefine the block, the can be "BY LAYER" or they can be "BY BLOCK".
If they are "BY LAYER" you have to move them all to a layer with the correct colour. If they are "BY BLOCK" yuo can change the colour in PROPERTIES.
If you have to redefine the block the are (as always) several ways to do it and chosing the easiest depend on your version of AutoCAD. Probably the easiest is to REFEDIT the block on all recent versions though.

Hi,
i'm using AutoCAD LT 2006 and i'm working with a drawing i didn't create. i tried to move to another layer, that didnt work. it would seem its the block i need to edit - i'm not sure how to edit it. i tried exploding the block, changing colour and then saving again with same name but as i dont know the original insertion point - the blocks were inserted incorrectly. what can anyone suggest?
thanks,
steve

rather than exploding, try REFEDIT. This works in full AutoCAD, don't know about LT. If that doesn't work you can either....
WBLOCK the block somewhere else and work on it there, then INSERT and browse. You will get a "do you want to redefine" question. Alternatively, draw a line from the insertion point of the block before exploding it. Then you can recreate it with the end of the line as the insertion point.

there is no refedit command in lt...
porbably the easiest solution is to wblock the block out to a new file edit that and reinsert that in to your drawings...and say yes when it asks if you wish to redefine the block...

If you envoke "list" and click on the block you can find out the insertion point.
