I think I changed a setting or something, but when object is chosen the layer don't pop up above like it use to. Anybody know how to change it back?

What do you mean by "layer don't pop up above"?

Up on the layers manager the layer normally shows up that is associated with that object when chosen.

All my dwg files are acting the same.

I am not aware of a setting that would make this happen. what happens when you access the properties of an object? Does the layer information show up there?

Numerous strange things happening, I cant double click to make properties box to come up(I had to type properties in command bar...objects ARE showing corresponding layers).

When objects chosen and using layer manager pull down to assign differ layer, that don't work either.

When highlighting something and deleting it by pressing delete button, that don't work either.

can I reboot cad settings?

i have come across anomalies before. I would select an object and acad thinks that nothing is selected... I closed autoad and restarted and everything worked fine.... Some bugs find a way. Try restarting acad and see what happens. If this is happening in ALL your dwgs than this might fix it.

Ah!! your last post made it clear!! I had to re read it. I would bet that PICKFIRST is set to 0. Type PICKFIRST and set it to 1.
