text overwrite

When I type text in the command line it used to insert the characters if I needed to edit it. Now it overwrites the characters following instead of inserting. I know there is a sytem variable for this but I can not remember it. Thanks.

Try toggling the "insert" mode (the key on your keyboard just right of the backspace key). :)
