Station Annotation and Viewports

Well it seems I have actual need of asking a question that I have become completely dumbfounded with. It seems so very simple but yet the issue has pointed out a limit to my understanding. First let me give you a bit of history to hopefully help give some clues.

I have a project that is moving into a different phase which causes a new project number and a new folder structure for it. The previous files for this project were not created using C3D but I am going to be utilizing it in this phase. I am using much of the same files as before that includes using the one of the sheet files as well to get a jump start on the new phase so I didn't have to create it all from scratch.

With that being said the issue at hand is as follows:

I created a new alignment in C3D which of course has annotative text. When I am working within a sheet file the annotative scale that I using displays at the proper scale in model space but when I am in paper space the stationing displays at a scale factor of 1. I have MSLTSCALE as well as PSLTSCALE set to 1 and LTSCALE set to a factor of 1 also.

My thoughts about this would be that there is a variable I am not aware of that is causing this or that the sheet files have some sort of corruption. (They would all have the same problem since I used Save-As to create the other sheets.) I have audited the files and it finds no errors.

I hope that I am not the only one here that has experienced this.

Thanks for your time

I have found the solution.

In the C3D Toolspace in the Settings tab by right clicking on the drawing name and choosing Edit Drawing Settings the following dialog has a tab titled Units and Zone. When I changed the Drawing Units from Inches to Feet the station annotation displayed at the correct height.

Just as a note that might save you future confusion, C3D Labels do not use the Annotative Scales. Instead, they scale based on the Drawing Scale (in modelspace) or the Viewport Scale (in paperspace).

Thanks sinc. I was not aware of that difference. That explains why changing annotative scales had no affect on the text height. That was a clue to me that there was something else controlling the text height. As a side note; I thought something was carried over from the previous project files. Most of the time I have to start a project from scratch anyway and have never come across this problem.
