jools182 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Been working for structural and civil engineers for around 10 years and now I am in the manufacturing industry (conveyors). I did work as an architectural technician for around 8 months a few years ago I'm looking to get back into architecture, what would be the best way to go about it? As for training I have a ONC building studies and a HNC civil engineering Would some Revit training help? Quote
jools182 Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 I'm in the UK not far from Manchester Quote
ReMark Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Have you looked into City & Guilds? Would they offer architecture-specific training or is it more generalized AutoCAD training? Revit or AutoCAD Architecture would probably be your best two choices. I'm not sure which is used most in the U.K. What are you options for AutoDesk training centers in the U.K.? Quote
jools182 Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 City and Guilds seems to be just autocad based, not specific to Architecture There are training centres around, although it's fairly expensive for a course around £700-800, but probably worthwhile if Revit is going to be as popular as people seem to think it will be Quote
ReMark Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 You could always look into Internet-based training or training CDs as another option. How about a private tutor? Maybe someone in the trade would be willing to work with you one-on-one. I think you'd be a fast learner so the cost compared to a course might be lower. I just did a quick search on the phrase "Revit Training" and you should see what I pulled up. Give it a try. Quote
