I have a bund with the following properties;

Physical Properties for Bund Area

General Properties:

Material: {Default}

Density: 1.000 g/cm^3

Mass: 339392.812 lbmass (Relative Error = 0.000000%)

Area: 367.752 m^2 (Relative Error = 0.000000%)

Volume: 153.946 m^3 (Relative Error = 0.000000%)

How come the are is larger than the volume?

I'm sure my brain is not working today :(

Is that area the exterior surface of your model?

If yes this result can be easily explained; see an example based on a box of 2 x 3 x 0.5mm:

  area   = 2 * (2*3 + 2*0.5 + 3*0.5) = 17.0mm²
 volume = 2 * 3 * 0.5               = 3.0mm³

???????

Model a cube 1m x 1m x 1m

Volume is 1m^3

Area is the area of the 6 faces.

Each face is 1m^2

6 faces on cube is 6 x 1m^2 = 6m^2

units are different m^2 is not m^3 , numbers are meaningless without the units

try the same experiment with sides 1000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm

Even if is a mathematical abuse, try playing with the area and volume of a sphere – will see that the report is switching at one particular value.
