Possibly one for our American draughters

can somebody tell me the size of US size D & B sheets please.

I have just been given a D size (33.7" x 22.64") and a B size. The B drawing looks to be a direct (scaled) copy of the D but is now 15.41" x 10.47".

The reason I ask is when we change paper size, the border text remains constant making an A3 drawing more suited to circuit diagrams and an A1 more suited to assemblies when everything is plotted at A3.

edited to correct the D height.

Standard ANSI Inch Drawing Sheet Sizes:

A: 8.5x11 or 11x8.5
B: 17x11
C: 22x17
D: 34x22
E: 44x34
F: 40x28

Typical sizes used by most mechanical, architectural and HVAC firms.

However, when I worked in the civil engineering sector we had some slight differences. They were:

C: 24x18
D: 36x24
E: 48x36

Don't ask me why.

thanks ReMark

now that I've measured the sizes correctly they sort of agree although I am sure it was just scaled. Oh well, it's all I have to work.

ReMark listed the correct size for ANSI A-F. The other sizes listed for C-E and Archetural sizes.

As to why... Doesn't everyone need their own special paper size? It makes like such fun!
