ironman
Ok so I had this problem with 3ds max 6 (which was answered here - thanks) and now I am having this same problem with 3d max 2009... When I import curved models into 3d max 2009, they render all choppy and not curved...what should my settings be in the import option? Thanks for any help! ironman
Oops I just found what I was looking for in the import option...I'm doing it like this - under the geometry tab - - Weld Threshold = 0'0" - Smooth Angle = 10 - Curve Steps = 1 - Surface Deviation for 3D solids = 0'0" That solved my problem - yay! ThrashMetal
you can also set all settings in the import options at default but change your surface deviation to .001..be sure you set your unit set up in max to meters.. just sharing.. Cad64
- Weld Threshold = 0'0" - Smooth Angle = 10 - Curve Steps = 1 - Surface Deviation for 3D solids = 0'0" I'm surprised those settings worked. I normally set Curve Steps to 20 and Surface Deviation to .001. I leave the other settings at their defaults. But if I need more smoothness I will bump the Curve Steps up to a higher number.
