Hi All,

So I was I've been thinking lately that it would be cool if there were interesting challenges posted on the forum, perhaps on a weekly basis or even a "If you've got a challenge post it" basis.

As you'd expect most post on the forum are queries related to interacting with autocad for commercial reasons but there's so much fun stuff that while autolisp wasn't really inteded for can be created which would push the commonly accepted boundaries of lisp.

Granted this may be subjuect to abuse such as "I bet you can't create this super-awesome thing, that I really need but I can't write or don't have the time to write - but you won't know that" but I'm sure with a bit of creative thinking we could work round that, for example; the challange setter could post a compiled "vlx" version of a script which successfully meets that criteria of the challenge.

Any thoughts?

Myself I already wrote Lisp routines just for my own fun. I published here in the forum a couple of them -and I am not the only one. Unfortunately I don't use Lisp any more -and I use AutoCAD only rarely.

If you wish a competition, I would suggest you to wait some; there is a competition already running.

Even before to begin I can point some winners! :)

Hi Fuccaro,

It just dawned on me that I'm using my new account (long story why I created a new one). I've been a member of the forum for the last five years or so but it's only been over the last year or so I've thought "hmm I wish there were some challenges out on the forum".

I too have spent a fair bit of time writing and posting fun scripts on the board, news readers, conjecture mappers etc. I suppose now I've reached the point where I'm comfortable writing any lisp I require and I'm reaching out to stave my cravings for a challenge lol :)

Could you point me in the direction of this competition, even if it's too late to enter it may indeed be good fun.

Thanks,

SOliver.

There is a competition about modeling and rendering here:http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?57748-Competition-No.-9

Probable you didn't see it because you was looking for Lisp competitions only.
