Tiger Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Hai folks! This question came to light when me and a collegue switched computers with each other and realised that our AutoCAD's don't work exactly the same! One thing that we have noticed that is not exactly earth-shattering is that the preview-lines differs in color. Lemme explain. When you start the DIST command, you first select a point and while you are moving your cursor around to find the next point, you have a line following your cursor that is attached to the first point you picked. On my present computer, that line is red. On my old computer, that is light grey. When you start the LINE command you have the same preview-line, except on my present computer that is light grey, same as on my old computer. I have never did think that that could be changed, but apparently it can...but the question is, where? I have hunted through all the usual suspects but no cigar. Does anyone know where you go to change the color of the preview-line? Quote
dbroada Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I thought I had found it - Autotrack vector colours in Options|Display|Colours but it didn't make any difference. I'm going to blame it on you having newer software than me. Incidentally, my preview lines are white. Quote

designerstuart Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 yes and i remember looking for another colour that had changed on my machines in there and found nothing that would help - sorry no answer yet..... my preview lines are whitesame here Quote
Tiger Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 They are white on another collegues machine (the boss', so white must be the correct way, surely!). Thanks for looking folks Quote
Kat Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Response is a bit delayed, but I think I found what you are looking for. Options > Display > Colors > 2D model space > Autotrack vector Was that the mystery color? Quote
Tiger Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 See picture below, this is from a Line-command. The magenta-line is correct By Layer, the green line is what you suggested Kat but its the grey line-to-be that is the mystery Quote
Organic Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I also wish to know how to change this now. in AutoCad 2010 it seems to be white by default and in 2012 grey by default. I would like to change it back to white somehow... Quote
SLW210 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Options > Display > Colors > 2D model space > Dynamic Dimension Lines Quote
Organic Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Options > Display > Colors > 2D model space > Dynamic Dimension Lines Thanks, that is the one. Quote
Tiger Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 Options > Display > Colors > 2D model space > Dynamic Dimension Lines Awesome! Thanks a million Oh Green One!! Quote
SLW210 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 No problem. I made mine yellow. Shows up real good on black background. Quote
Tiger Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 interesting though that the preview line within the DIST-command is not affect by that... but that is perhaps beside the point Quote
SLW210 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 The actual stretch line is white and the w/DIST command but the portion showing the dimension lines are yellow and the dimension is white on mine. When I get time , I will look into changing that if possible. I at least want the Dimensions yellow for good visibility. Quote
