Blythy Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Hey Guys I recently got a New Lap Top and installed AutoCad 2009, I new then just copy and pasted all my Blocks and AutoCad Template. I then inserted one of the Blocks that should be 2m high but on the screen it comes up 50m high. I know i can scale the one block down once it is on my screen but all the blocks when i insert them are like giant sized. How do i make it so that are there propper sizes from when i created them? Thanks Quote
Dana W Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Your units are probably different in the new drawing than they were in the drawing where the blocks were created. If that is not the case, then you probably created the blocks in a scale other than full size. You can enter a scale factor in the block insertion dialog box just before you insert them, if you like. You need to make the drawing in the units required by whatever you are building or designing. See my previous answer. You can scale the blocks as you insert them or you can go into the editor and scale them there and save. If your blocks are 50 meters high and they should be 2 meters high then scale them by .25 Quote
SLW210 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 50m/2m = 25; 1mm = 25.4inches coincidence? You will need to scale by 1/25 not .25 that would be 1/4 and would result in the block measuring 12.5m. Seems to me you are inserting a metric block into an Imperial template. Reset your INSUNITS=6 for Meters. Quote
ReMark Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Could the problem be easily corrected by using a metric template instead of an imperial template? Quote
