I am having a difficult time rotating my viewport. I tried grabbing it and using the RO command, but the window is rotating and not the image. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Use the MVSETUP command options Align Viewports or Rotate View.

Another option is to use the DVIEW command with "Twist".

Maybe even try the ALIGNSPACE command found in Express Tools.

Thanks REMARK, we will give it a try.

MVSETUP worked. Thanks so much!

Another way (older) of doing it is to rotate your UCS and then issue the PLAN command inside the viewport.

Unfortunately it's only with newer versions of ACad where the "rotate" command actually works "correctly" on viewports. Not sure if it was since 2009/10, but I seem to go into my 2011 for this purpose quite a lot. Using normal rotate is a great step forward from any one of the other methods.

2009 does not rotate viewports - as in, the ucs stays as was, even the viewport orientation stays. nice to hear this has been fixed.

Yes, I personally use 2011 and the RO command works just fine. It was my co-worker that is using 2008 that I needed help for. Thanks all!
