trank Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 how do i delete the auto cad file in the window explorer, even the file is not open by any other person? Quote
Bill Tillman Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 It all depends on the location of the file and what permissions you have to it. If they are local files on your local hard drive you simply highlight the file and press delete, or right click on it and choose delete. These options will dump the file to your Recycle Bin. If you want to erase them completely then you need to press and hold the Shift key while you press or choose to delete. This will by-pass the Recycle Bin and 86 the file completely. Now if the files are located on a shared server in your network then you will of course do the same thing but it will all depend on the permissions that are set for your login account. If you are not the admin of this server and you can't erase files then you will need to speak to the tech guys about it. There is a possibility that if users were setup on your local computer then you may not have rights to erase files. Again it all depends on the permissions in your setup. Quote
SLW210 Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 What files are you trying to delete? I agree with Bill, sounds like you do not have the proper permissions to delete from that folder. Quote
