Mtext with Language Accents Slowing Down Software

Has anyone ever experienced this or know of any solutions?

 

My drawings include a lot of text (paragraphs) in multiple languages with accents. These accents causes AutoCAD to slow to a crawl anytime I switch to a layout sheet with these text.

 

This only happens when there are accents in the text as normal English loads perfectly fine.
