cadjel Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I am working on some detail drawings. To save time, I simply modify the previous drawings. However, when i need to adjust the height of, for example, a window, by stretching or pulling, none can have the hatched area lengthened or reduced. In ''quick properties", the associative is not applicable if i change it from N-->Y. I'm wondering if i am doing any step wrong. Quote
Glen1980 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 If you are reducing the border of a hatched area you can sometimes use the trim command to quickly reduce the size of the hatch. I've never successfully changed hatch to associative using quick properties where it has bothered me I've always had to re-do the hatched area making sure that associative is ticked in the dialogue box although this could be because I use LT. CyberAngel Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 One way to adjust a nonassociative hatch is to right click on it, select Generate Boundary, and move the vertices of the resulting border. Another way, which may help in the long run, is to re-create the original hatch as associative. Then, the next time you make a copy of it, you have a boundary you can modify. Quote
qball Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 From the help menu for Autocad 2010: "You can remove hatch associativity at any time, but once it is removed for an existing hatch, it cannot be reestablished. The hatch must be recreated to restore associativity or a new hatch boundary must be created and associated with the hatch" Quote
