when i right click on the border line of a viewport , a menu should show up. then i may choose an option which allows me to lock the viewport.
my question is that recently when i do this the menu does not show up. i am not sure if i changed some options. how can i get it back. Thanks!

Correct, you should be able to get the right click menu when the viewport is selected.
Are you sure you are selecting the viewport first before right-clicking? Are the grips on the corners of the viewport showing before you right-click? Please check that they are - seems obvious but sometimes we overlook the obvious!

Which operating system are you using?Have you checked your right click customisation settings? If your using CAD2K then go to: Tools-Options-User Preferences-Right Click Customization. Now check that you have "shortcut menu" selected in the Edit Menu.I tried deselecting this myself and and there was no right click menu when selecting my veiwport, just carries out the last command. :)

I am sure I did. Every time before right-clicking, I use left-clicking highlighting the desired viewport first.
I just wonder if the problem due that I changed some options in the general option menu month ago, but I am not sure.
Now, I am doing zoom in paper space carefully for without lossing the layout. It is a trouble.

Well isnt that the answer? Also your having trouble with the zooming in viewports.Having the veiwport locked is a great help, but if it isnt just simply keep an eye on the tab in paper space. If the model tab is visable rather paper and also if your viewport has a thicker viewport demarcation, then zooming will zoom the whole viewport altering your scale. As soon as you realise just hit the undo key. That problem with the viewport used to frustrate me to before :)

I check there as Hyposmurf said, but it looks just like what we want.
I want to describe what show up in the menu when I right clicking: repeat last command / cut or copy or paste / undo, pan or zoom / quick select..., find..., option/
thanks

So does that mean it worked? If your talking about the right click menu generally, then you need to have the "shortcut menus in drawing area" selected. That option is just above the right click customisation option, under "Windows Standard Behaviour".

actually, I don't have matter with zoom. I mean I have to zoom/pan only in paper space because I cannot lock the viewport. I do left clicking highlighting a viewport, and then right-clicking but the desired lock option doesn't show up.
I check general option menu again. the shortcut menus in drawing area has been checked.

:D
my friends: as I know month ago I messed my selection setting in general options menu. just now, i just tried something there. the reason is I didn't check Noun/verb selection. Now I checked it and everything is OK.
Thanks a lot!
