tennis4you Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I am a one person firm working out of my house on a desktop computer. I have a few clients who have asked me recently if I could come to their office and make revisions with the client there. I have a laptop that would work great for that, but can I actually put the same AutoCAD LT on that laptop as the one that is on my desktop? Or do I need to buy another license to do that? Thank you, Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 If I were you, i'd ask your dealer, or autodesk directly. That's a very gray area, and there have been many interpretations of how that comes out. On the other hand, you could always used draftsite or doublecadxt or one of the other free cad programs that read and write dwgs on your laptop. For just a few quick changes from time to time, that's what I'd do. In fact, that's what I am doing. Quote
nestly Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 ....can I actually put the same AutoCAD LT on that laptop as the one that is on my desktop? Yes. If you own an individual commercial license, you absolutely may install it on a second computer providing you're the owner of the 2nd computer, and providing you'll be the only one using the 2nd computer. You can find this in section 3.1.2 Use Away from your Usual Work Location of your license agreement. Type ABOUT at the command line, then click on "Product Information", then the "License Agreement" button, then scroll down to Section 3.1.2 Quote
