Thanks guys. There's still a lot of work to do. Currently, I'm in the middle of integrating vBulletin into the site and it's working out pretty well. There's no date yet for the launch but I'm hoping it will be late spring/early summer.

why are you gonna do that? vBulletin costs money doesn't it? phpBB works just fine ;-)
i actually like phpBB better to be honest. with a few mods of course lol 8)

As previously discussed, phpBB has served well over the years but it has become very difficult to keep up-to-date with all the security fixes when the board is modded as this one is. vBulletin has an excellent modular structure that allows templates and mods to be integrated without changing the core files - updates are very easy. phpBB has not moved with the times. We've been waiting for the next version for over 3 years. Stuff you'd expect to have like file uploads and attachments just are not there, hence our File Manager thingy - not ideal. vBulletin does all this and a whole lot more. Yes, I paid good money for vBulletin but it will be worth it just for the time I save managing the forum.
