I hope I posted this in the right spot...anyway, I have a project that I need to bring into Bryce5 from AutoCAD14. Now then, I have a sweet view of an exploded asembly of a house which is also in perspective. The exploded pieces consist of the basement, HVAC system, floor joists, floor, and finally the house. As I said things are in a perspective view, and all the items are exploded from each other in a similar fashion to how bicycle spokes are arranged around a wheel. This lets me view the exploded assembly in a way that lets me look down into the basement and sort of up at at the house....whew, got all that? How can I get this same view in Bryce? I have just recently started working with this program so setting up my initial view is still a little tricky for me. Am I making this harder than it should be or what? I am actually hoping that my view in AutoCAD would carry over into Bryce but maybe I'm asking for too much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jon, welcome to our forum.

I know exactly what you mean and wouldn't it be great if saved views in AutoCAD could be translated to saved views in Bryce. Sadly this is not possible. Importing the AutoCAD objects into Bryce is quite easy. See http://www.cadtutor.net/dd/bryce/atob/atob.html for details. But as far as views go, it's really a case of trying to match the view manually.

Don't forget that you can switch between Director view and Camera view in Bryce. I find it easier to start in Director view, position and orient the camera using the Edit tools so that it is in approximately the right place, then switch to Camera view and use the View tools to make any fine adjustments.

Let me know if you find an easier way. Mabe Bryce 6 will support DWG imports - we can but hope.
