Hi,
We trypically do all our CAD work in imperial (inches) but have to make a change to something based on measurements supplied in metric. Instead of messing around with conversins etc, can you change the units of the drawing over? if so how is this done
thanks in advance
Brad!

At least up to AutoCAD 2004 metric units in not one of the unit types offered. Damn those Yanks!
But have no fear there is a way to define alternate units alongside inches. AutoCAD displays the units, millimeters and inches, side by side, with the alternate units in square brackets. Example:
1.4380 [36.53]
Click on Dimension, then Style, and when the Dimension Style Manager window appears click on Modify. When the Modify Dimension Style: Standard window opens click on the Alternate Units tab. Check off Display Alternate Units. Notice that when you enable alternate units the box for Multiplier for alt units defaults to 25.40, which is the mutiplier for millimeters to inches. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window and you should be good to go.
