I have a dwg from the Army Corp and when I plot the lines are very faint. I windowed the whole dwg and increased the line wieght. It improved the plot quality and I saved what I had done. When I tried the same process the next day to the original dwg it did not seem to work as the plots continue to be very faint. When I open a new dwg and draw two lines I can't seem to make one of them wider than the othe using line wieght. What am I doing wrong? :?

A couple of quesitons...
Are you printing from model space or paper space?
Are you using any plot styles?
Are you printing in b/w or color?
Are you using a laser printer/plotter?
Light color objects will appear faint when printing to a laser printer unless you use a plot style. I use the monochome plot style to print all the objects in black.

It all depends on your plot settings. If you are plotting based on a ctb file then the lineweights are different based on the colours that you use. If you have the plotting set to lineweight then it's the lineweight that you set for each line of layer that determines the thickness of the line. If it doesn't really matter how thick the lines are and you just want them to print out dark enough for you to read them then I would suggest changing your "plot style table" To "monochrome.ctb".
Hope this helped.

I plot other dwgs with the same settings and all is good I plot this dwg and all lines are very faint. The detail is great it is just hard to see becouse the ink is light.
