norm Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I need to lock template drawings, what methods are there Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 By locking, I assume you mean you wish to prevent changes. You can mark the individual files as read only, or put them in a read only folder, or on a read only drive. That is all done through the operating system. As far as I know, Autocad doesn't have any security other than passwording a file, a method I don't recommend. Quote
norm Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks Jack. I tryed password and it got me in all sorts of trouble Quote
tzframpton Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Put the templates in a directory on the network that is read only access, accept for you. Your IT admin will probably need to be involved. Then path the Templates in the Support Paths in Options. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yeah, the read only thing is the best way to go. That password thing will drive you to drinkin'. Quote
Tankman Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Write protect the files, wherever they are. Nix, as Jack said, the password option. Duh, what was that password? Quote
