I want to split a part using a surface to realise both parts of a mold in Inventor 10.
First I made the surface by deleteing the faces of a part and now I want to use it to cut another part witch I try to make now. It doesn't work because I am in surface mode. Does anybody help me split a part ?
In split command help says that is posible to split a part with a surface!
Thanck You.

Post it up and I'll do it. You could always just save as another copy. Use extrude to cut the bottom half away save as 'top' half. Open the original, extrude cut the top half away save as 'bottom' ???

I have the surface first and I can't built the body witch I want to split with it. In comand extrude I can't select the profile (the surface of a circle, only the circle) The result is a cylindrical surface not a body. The rest I understood, but I can't realise the body symoultan with the cut surface.
Will you help me please? Thanck you.

So you know that you must use CLOSED profiles for solid extudes ?
