DODGE Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Hi Guys I have been thinking about getting into the BIM thing, at the moment I only do 2d stuff. I was talking to an Architect on site last week, and asked him what his office used. He said that they had used AutoCad for around 15 years and had only just gone over to ArchiCad. He said it was the best thing they had done. They did have a look at Revit but decided that ArchiCad had an easier learning curve and was designed by Architects? Has anybody on here had any experience with it? I know we are on an AutoCad forum, but I can't think of a nicer bunch of guys to ask, creep creep Dodgeo:) Quote
Organic Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I don't use it very often personally, although the architecture team here all uses Revit. Most companies that use BIM for architecture tend to use Revit. Quote
Andy Leach Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Revit is a good BIM application but you probably find that most people create models in revit/other bim software and then export and render is another rendering package for more realistic render images. Quote
