Hi

My problem is that I have a manipulator modelled which is to be used in a confined space. I would like to show the coverage which the manipulator can reach and which are the void areas. I have modelled the confined space which the manip goes in and can show the movements of the manip.

Is there a way which I can show the manipulator moving around this space and to show the void areas.

Thanks

Matt

Hi
I have done this in AutoCAD - keystroke-controlled "real-time" motion of an open cinematic chain ("manipulatir jib" with collision control).
See the programming sample (AutoLISP) from www.black-cad.de

You can use constraints to join the parts of the manipulator together then use drive constraints to move the manipulator.
