williamS
Given a mathematical equation that defines a solid, (for example x4 - x3 + y2 + z2 = 0 defines a teardrop shape, is it possible to model it in Autodesk Inventor.
JD Mather
I would create the number of points you needed for the curve (consider manufacturing tolerance - I see many use wayyy too many points trying to achieve an accuracy that manufacturing process can't even begin to reproduce). Import the Excel points into a sketch spline. Without plotting your curve I would guess 6 points would be enough. You could also create User Variables in Inventor to dimension the points so that it is parametric or named variables in the Excel and inport that rather than simply the points. Post back if you can't figure it out.
