Nick Prime
I purchased AutoDesk Inventor LT. I also have AutoCad LT. I have used AutoCad for some time. I understand one can use the 2D drawings to build a 3D part. Certainl, I'm not looking for instructions here, but some direction on the best videos or other material that will assist. TIA, Nick

JD Mather
Students can get full Inventor Professional for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity To answer your question there is a tool here http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/2d_to_3d_tool/ to help convert AutoCAD 2D into Inventor 3D - but most people simply start from scratch not trusting the AutoCAD data was done correctly. http://mfgcommunity.autodesk.com/learning/articles/details/249441/ Edited January 24, 2012 by JD Mather
Lazer
but most people simply start from scratch not trusting the AutoCAD data was done correctly. I found that it is quicker in most cases to do it yourself, the idea behind it logical but I find myself cleaning up the drawing more than often.
