Scale with 2012

I’m using Auto CAD 2012, but I know only the commands that I’ve to use very often at my work.

Before 2012, I used 2007. Sometimes I feel that although I’m using 2012 I can’t get some as 2007.

Today I used scale command, unfortunately 2012 doesn’t show last scale factor. Normally I used scale command with reference length to guess the length approximately and I put the scale factor that I’ll need. It’s very useful for me. Now, I’ve a problem with 2012. I would like to get back that reply from scale.

If the command line is already on, grab it and drag it down to make it larger.

But, don't guess at anything. Using Align is a little quicker than Scale, check in help.

I don't think that is going to happen with 2012, there are quite a few reasonably substantial improvements since 2007, but I see no way to make it display as previously. I understand why you liked it remembering the last entry value, seems unfortunate that it no longer does.

I do not recall OOTB AutoCAD ever displaying the previous scale. Perhaps you had a customization.

2011 remembers the last scale factor. Instead of inputting a scale factor just hit enter. This is probably the same for 2012.

2007 definitely retained the last used scale factor. Verified it this morning.

True, I meant to say it does not display it on the command line. The OP is saying it used to display the scale factor on the command line I guess similar to fillet, circle, radius, offset etc.

Perhaps set INPUTHISTORYMODE to 6, then try again. Hitting the up arrow key will display the previous input. Or maybe hit F2 to display the text window, scroll up to see recent input.

If it does not display right at the command line then I don't think the OP is going to be satisfied.

I don't recall it ever displaying the previous scale, but I guess the memory is the first to go.

I definitely can't find a way to get it to work in 2011.

My last post contained a print out taken directly from AutoCAD 2007's text screen. Works the same way in 2010 too.

OK, according to complaints at Autodesk, this has been removed starting with 2011.

I could find any threads on getting this back.

This is odd, but if I use .scale I get the desired result. So start the scale command with a period, works here on 2012 anyway.

No worky here on 2011.

No joy in vanilla 2012 using .scale instead.

It must be a Mech thing or a setting.
